GRASSROOTS DEVELOPMENT U8-U12
2019-2020 PROGRAM OUTLINE
About the GDP Development Program
LaSalle Soccer wants to provide a positive soccer experience to all our members. Every LaSalle Soccer player deserves to develop their skills to their full potential. Between the ages of 8 and 12, the main objective is to develop their skills in multiple small sided games by touching the ball frequently. As indicated in the CSA’s Long Term Player Development (LTPD) model, LaSalle Soccer will create a development environment for every player that corresponds to his/her individual needs. As players develop their game and abilities, they need to have freedom to move up and down depending on their development stage.
For the U8 – U12 GDP
The LaSalle Minor Soccer Association ensures that our practices are in line with those mandated by the Quebec Soccer Federation & the Canadian Soccer Association. Starting in the 2019-2020 Fall/Winter season, LaSalle Soccer will no longer hold a “Players Evaluation Process” (try-out) for all U8-U12 Grassroots Development Program players. All current GDP players can register for the proceeding season and all free program space for each age group will be filled by players attending the Orientation sessions or through the other club programs such as the House League indoor / outdoor soccer, and the Fall / Winter Soccer School. The number of players that will participate in the program is related to the number of qualified educators we have.
Players Orientation Day will be held in September to give the chance to our Technical Department to identify the best pathway for each player moving forward in 2019-2020.
If you are interested in joining the U8-U12 GDP, please contact the LaSalle Soccer Technical Staff at firstname.lastname@example.org
